Cd Recording Software

anyone, anyone at all? i really want to record a cd for my friend. like a softwear that gives reverb, overlay, backround music all that great stuff. i am a singer and i would do anything but pay money to get this!!!!!!! whats the best software out there. and i'm planing on going to a recording studio, but if one heard my music, then awesome!
and make it legal!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't want to get in big trouble!!!!!!!!!!!!! or is there a way i could get a free trial from apple for there recording software logic exspress 8????????
