what is the best usb condenser mic out there thats under 150 dollars?
I'm a musician and lately I've been recording my songs on garage band, but I'm just using the internal mic. I hate tilting the screen of my mac just to for the mic to pick up my voice. And If there are any deals on the net that has a shock mount, windscreen and boom mic stand package. please post the link. BTW a mic that does more than just ok audio on vocals and acoustic guitar
I have been recording for about 4 years. I do Hip Hop music and a little R&B. In my opinion from using the products myself I'll give my suggestions to you.
1-Audio-Technica AT2020 $149.99
2-Blue Yeti USB Microphone $149.99
3-Nady USB-1CMS $119.99
Now I have used these items before in home studio setups, but I currently use the Rhodes NT1A & Neumann TLM 49
Ok, the Audio Technica (AT) is one of the best condensers for that price ...period. Perfect for home studio recording, field recording, pod casting, and voice over use.
Blue Yeti- if you know the Blue products, they are top of the line. Most are really expensive, but are extremely versatile. This one doesn't disappoint. It has 3 capsules and 4 different pattern settings, is THX certified with clarity previously unheard in any usb microphone.
And finally the Nady. The cheapest of the bunch. Has large diaphragm for capturing great sound. Perfect for recording studio vocals, acoustic instruments, pod casts, ambient instrument audio, or any audio source. A great starter mic for anyone. It also come with Acid Music Studio.
Personally I'd go with the Blue Yeti. I recorded vocals for tracks and it really came out nice. the AT is also pretty hot. Great for recording a demo.
