Bridgeable Mono amp with a dual voice coil sub?

Ok, I have a mono car amp that has 2 sets of terminals. This amp says that it is bridgeable. 195W RMS @ 4ohm. 265W RMS @ 2 ohm. Crutchfield says a mono amp is best for a dual voice coil sub. (2 sets of terminalss) It says take the + from one terminal of the amp to one + of the sub...then to the other + of the sub. Do the same with the negatives. This would be a 2ohm connection. My question is... would I be getting the 265W RMS @ 2ohm rating? What would I have to do to "bridge" this amp to a dual voice coil sub and what would my power rating be?

some mono amps have two sets of outputs for convenience. if you only use one + and - and go to sub 1 and then to sub 2...it will be the same as if you hooked one sub to each output.

being dual coil or not has nothing to do in determining if you should get a mono amp or not.

if you have dual 4ohm subs...your either going to get 1ohm or 4ohm...it doesn't matter which output (or both) you use. if you think of a speaker wire splitting into two wires, that is how the outputs are viewed by the amp. so if you have dual 4ohm subs and wire each one to 2 ohm and hook one to each output, the amp will see a 1ohm load...not 2ohm per side since there is only one side....or mono.
