isolation and loneliness taking over?
i came home from college to go to a community one because of family issues. all of my "friends" are away at school, and i only really had 3 close ones. i dont talk to them at all, maybe once a month. i quit my waitressing job (which i had some social life at) to go to school full time. i literally wake up, walk the dog, go to class, come home, sit on the couch until I go to bed again. repeat. EVERY DAY. there is nobody at school to talk to, and i feel like i don't want to talk to anyone anyways. i have become an extreme homebody to the point that I am rejecting visiting colleges, not responding to texts, calls. i dont have the motivation to go out and meet people, who does that alone? how do I meet people. There are no clubs of people my age around here. I am very lonely and my only friend is my mom (who i love, but it is not healthy to only hang out with her). Advice, please?
Think of the movie with Tom Hanks. He gets stranded on a dessert island. Everyone thinks he's dead and every day, he goes on. He takes pleasure in communicating with Wilson his soccer ball. At the end of the movie, he talks about his will to go on and why he does. It's because there has to be a reason. You'll find your reason. Keep going to school. Hang with your mom. And whatever you do, don't quit the school your going to. There is a reason for everything under the sun.
