Apple IEEE 1394 FireWire
In 1995, Apple introduced a new interface standard IEEE 1394 serial bus is also called FireWire. The invention Apple last known communication at high speed and excellent speed data transfer. FireWire is commonly used in computers and other personal media devices like digital cameras and aircraft.
FireWire Moreover, the interface is called Sony i.LINK Lynx and Texas Instruments. Serial IEEE 1394 is now globally adopted as High Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance (HANA) standard. IEEE 1394 or FireWire Series replaces parallel SCSI connection in many multimedia applications. FireWire is more useful but also economical because it is profitable and requires simple to apply.
FireWire technology finds its way into applications of digital camcorders, as all the major products from Sony, Panasonic, etc. In Many PCs come integrated FireWire ports that can be used with select camcorder models. Sony i.LINK ports and products Apple, including laptops and computers are equipped with a FireWire / which can be used with external devices.
FireWire 400 is also known as a connector to 6 alpha variant of the circuit or IEEE 1394-1995. A common FireWire 400 is capable of transmitting data to 100/200 or 400 Mbit / half-duplex. However, the cable length is limited to only 4.5 meters. But up to 16 cables can be connected in series to form a chain that can transfer data at the same speed using active repeaters or external centers.
FireWire 800 was introduced in the 20th century with the IEEE 1394b-2002 protocol. Apple S800 Protocol has been accepted worldwide as they provide a magnificent 786 Mbps full-duplex data transfer at high speed.
The latest updates from Apple includes FireWire and FireWire S1600 S3200 was launched at the end of 2007 products. IEEE 1394d project is currently under development whose goal is to produce a better transport system FireWire.

Can I record multiple tracks using an M-Audio FireWire 410?
Well, I'm considering buying an M-Audio FireWire 410. I want to be able record separate tracks for 3 instruments at the same time, this can be done with the 410? I have Cubase LE. Thank you. Here is a link to the product exactly what I mean http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWire410-main.html
The manual says it can only record 2 tracks at once - there a switch on the front that says mic / line, and if you use XLR connectors before and if you use the rear two 1 / 4 "jacks. I used the 1814 (which is a couple hundred dollars more), and works well, but only has 2 mic.
