over the last year i've slowly been building up my home recording studio i've got cubasis, a sure 58 mic, line 6 gear box for my guitar and now i want something so i can record drums. i've been searching the web for a few hours now. these are the solutions i have found
1. drumming software like ez drummer
2. drum machine like the alesis sr 16 drum
3. yamaha dd series (i have drumming ability)
4. electric drum kit like the Ion IED-01
5. or should i buy different audio editing software like fl sudio 8
anyone been here befor? or happen to know alot about this stuff? any help will be greatly appreciated.
p.s. i'm only a hobbyist and i have a £200 budget for drums
If you are going to record drums then it's going to require more then 1 Shure to get that job done. I'd use the exact same setup as you do when playing out.. mixer mics etc and then record to a channel post effects from the mixer.
IF what you want is just to add a drum track to your mix and not necc a live version then 2 is a decent choice. It's not going to give you the same effect obv of a live set.
In the end it comes down to what the end mix is designed for. If this is for demo work then you should be fine. If this is for final resale I don't think you are quite there.
