Millions GASP as Hip Hop and Soul Collide
It is regarded as having appeared in the 1990s by Kedar Massenburg of Motown Records, the term Neo Soul refers to a genre that many observers are calling for the revitalization of the soul. This type is unique in how the soul merges old-school and R & B, with styles ranging from blues and rock electric poetry and spoken word. Raphael Saadiq, Tony Toni Tone is widely attributed to the birth of the revolution with artists like D'Angelo and Erykah Badu head of the wave in this new millennium. While the next generation of soul has a balance of many musical elements, one of the most significant is hip hop. As the genera are so closely linked, it is therefore not surprising that some of the brightest stars in hip hop today make the transition to soul music.
The history of hip hop and soul
Choose an album from an artist in hip hop that has prevailed over the past two decades and it is sure to meet a familiar hook you hear about hand. It may be fragments of Etta James' "Hard to Handle" by Nas affirmative action or a touch of "I Miss You" Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes is Jay Z came in "This can not be life."
From the beginning, hip hop artists have paid tribute to the classic soul music, using samples in their songs catchy. The trend is still popular today is not uncommon to hear the angelic voice of Nina Simone blended with Conscious rapper Talib Kweli Lyrics and the music sentimental Curtis Mayfield's complement Grammy Awards, winning artist Kanye West. In 1984 a group known as the Force MD's began record with Tommy Boy Records, saying that his style of music combines musical influences from different eras. Although this quartet has been strongly influenced by hip hop early 1950, doo wop, with 1960 and 1970, left their mark on the soul. Force MD's were inspired by The Fat Boys, LL Cool J, Run DMC and Whodini but most are not aware of that also entered the penguins and five soldiers, the groups that are on the corner doo wopping before these guys even were born. Anyone familiar with the agreement that the Force MD's were far ahead of its time, delivery and neo-soul years before hip-hop Mary J. Blige has been anointed as the Queen of Hip Hop Soul.
Who was the soul?
Several hip hop artists and producers demonstrate diversity through the publication of pieces mixed with soulful elements. Common has always been considered a hip-hop bordering the pop genre, but you may be surprised to know that DJ Jazzy Jeff has been flirting with the success of these experimental sounds too. Over the years, Jazzy produced a series of soul-oriented album with songs with names like Jill Scott and Raheem DeVaughn soul among many others artists budding. The ongoing dynamic between the sexes is good to see that no one be received by fans as De La Soul music, but also helping to bring neo soul to the surface and reaches the ears of most listeners.
