How do i separate a songs vocals from its instruments using Acid Pro?
I'm using Acid Pro 7, just so you know. No add-ons or anything like that. What I'm trying to accomplish is separating the vocals of a song from the instruments. I'm making a remix of a song, and want to use the vocals from one song, and add it onto the other song. I've heard some techniques where you can remove the vocals completely, but i want to KEEP the vocals but not the instruments. Any way i can do this? TIA.
As you said there is a way to remove vocals but there is no way to separate them or for that matter the individual instruments.
It's only possible with the original multi-track studio recording.
It's a bit like mixing the ingredients and baking a cake.
Once the individual tracks have been mixed down to a stereo file they can't be un-mixed.

Learn How to Sing From the Pro
Learning how to sing, just like any other acquired talent, can be learned. Learning varies to people, some learns fast while others took longer time. Some of the experts are more capable in carrying a tune than the others. They may know or don't really recognize what they are doing, but they manage to do it anyway. They have this skill to have power over their voice; effectively using their mouth, vocal chords and breathing.
People who are born to sing are few. You may not be one of them, but we still aspire to sing better. Be it in our family gatherings or karaoke session with our friends, we would love to sing a few songs to participate or make an impact on others.
Professional performers still practice everyday. They exercise to preserve their voice or simply widen their vocal range. We always hear this phrase, "practice makes perfect". Well, that saying does applies in singing. When we first learned how to ride a bike, we practiced a lot. There were so many falls and wrong steers before we perfected it. We even needed someone to hold us in case that we are doing it the wrong way. We asked tips and techniques so that we will have ideas on how to handle it. We did not just ride the bike, expecting to do it the first time. Constant practice is the key to learning.
Singers that we constantly hear from the radios or television did undergo proper training before they achieved their natural singing voice. Even those who are really good, who thought they never needed it, in one way or another, experienced having lessons from a voice coach. Those with natural singing voice, which really exists, still recognize the value of practice and preparation. They establish a routine before a performance; perfecting their act and going through it a dozen times a day. They hire voice coach to listen to them, and accept criticism from others. They are never afraid to listen to negative comments and reactions; thus using it to push themselves to work and practice harder.
Knowing the basics in singing can give you great understanding in the art of it and can aid you in achieving what you fancy from it. Practicing and analyzing the techniques can make a very big difference; practicing with your voice will make you become aware of your own natural singing voice, your own voice range and your own style so that you can work it out in your own ways. Never imitate others. The best thing is having your own style.
Singing is not hard to learn if you are dedicated and patient. Dedicating yourself into it had its own rewards in the end. Do not believe others when they tell you, that you are not born to sing. Be optimistic. There is nothing wrong with wanting something that we love. Keep doing what you think is right, don't stop believing in yourself.
