I can no longer record sounds from RealTek sound card using Windows Sound Recorder. How can I troubleshoot?
Hello,
I was previously able to record sounds from my sound card using the built in Windows Sound Recorder program. Now, it is not working. I record and when I play back the WAV file, there is no sound. I have a Realtek High Definition Audio sound card. I tried updating the driver, but then I was getting no sound at all! I do not want to use one of the other free programs out there (e.g. audacity, etc), so please don't suggest that. Any help to resolve this problem would be appreciated.

To to your audio settings..
Look for recording device
See you can get stereo mixer in view..
If not go to properties and select stereo mixer and select it..
You should be able to mix after selecting the stereo mixer

For those using WinXP, if you have a fast system that is at least 1.x Ghz (preferably 2.x Ghz or more) with a Pentium 4 with a lot of memory such as at least 512 megabytes ram, and with a good 4x AGP video card with at least 32 megabytes of ram (64 megabytes or more may be preferably), then you should be able to run the multiple TV Tuner cards without any stuttering problems that you may have on less powerful PCs. In other words, the more powerful your PC is, then the more capable and more stable your system may be.
