recorder disney

My memory of this is vague but…it’s an American comedy adventure set in the ‘depression’ years and centers on 3 (or is it 4) young brothers (and their sister I think), who are bought an old reel to reel recorder by their parents to film movies.

They subsequently go off on a wildlife adventure across the plains encountering a variety of animals which put them in all sorts of dangerous, but funny, situations

I’m sure that the film concludes with mention that one of the brothers goes on to become an acclaimed wildlife film-maker (Almost as if based on truth)

It might have been Disney film but not sure. Pease help.
