How do I protect my songs from theft at a recording studio?

I've lost many songs during recording sessions. Engineers or co-producers either simply have a small recording device and capture "live" sound, or they take my tracks out the studio, put their own artist's vocals on my beats and music (obviously they adjust the music tempo, time signature, etc.)

Is there a way to PROTECT my music so that when I leave the studio, the computer software program used to record the track will LOCK my song so no one can get into it? Or is it better to take an external harddrive and have the entire session recorded to my own external harddrive. (Even then can't the engineer tell the system to leave a copy in a temp file. UPDATE: I've wondered if I can take my own computer into the studio and have it hooked up to their bigger mixing and mastering boards, but I'm not sure if this is technically feasible.

First, make sure you copyright your songs before going to the studio.

Second, change studio. This one seems completely unprofessional.
